Ibiza Sunset Cruise: Everything You Need to Know

By Alin Letca · Updated May 2026 · 5 min read

Ibiza is world-famous for its sunsets — and the truth is, the best seat in the house isn't on the cliffs or fighting for a table at a beach bar. It's on the water, anchored on the west coast as the sun goes down. Here's everything you need to know to get it right.

The best sunset spots by boat

Cala Conta & Cala Bassa

The classic west-coast pairing. Layered turquoise water, open horizon, and that slow Ibiza glow as the sun drops. We anchor just offshore so you have the view to yourselves while the beach bars light up behind you.

Es Vedrà

For drama, nothing beats the silhouette of Es Vedrà — the mystical rock island — against a burning sky. It's a slightly longer run but unforgettable, and a favourite for special occasions.

In front of Café del Mar

The legendary San Antonio sunset strip, seen from the calm of your own boat instead of the crowd. The music drifts across the water as the sky turns.

What time should you go?

We typically depart around 18:00 so you're anchored and settled before golden hour. Sunset itself shifts through the season — around 21:30 in midsummer, earlier in spring and autumn — and we time the trip to match, so you're never rushing or waiting.

🌅 Insider tip: the 20 minutes after the sun dips below the horizon are often the most beautiful — the sky keeps changing colour. The best skippers linger for it instead of heading straight back.

What does a sunset cruise cost?

A private sunset cruise usually runs 2–3 hours from around €450, depending on the boat, with skipper and drinks included. Split between a group it's often comparable to — or cheaper than — per-person tickets on a crowded party boat, and infinitely more special. For the full picture, see our cost guide.

Private cruise vs. group party boat

If you want a loud party with strangers, the big group boats do that. But for a couple, a family, an anniversary or a proposal, a private cruise wins every time — your own boat, your music, your pace, and a captain who anchors exactly where the light is best. Many of our most memorable evenings are sunset cruises.

Make it special

Bring champagne (we'll chill it), ask about fresh fruit and snacks on board, and let us know if it's a celebration — we love helping make proposals and anniversaries perfect. Pair it with a swim stop on the way out and it's a complete evening.
